From theme parks and museums to cafés, Orlando has no shortage of exciting things to do. But what if you’re looking to have a great time while giving back to the community?
At Make-A-Wish® Central and Northern Florida, we proudly host three distinct Orlando charity events. These fundraising events are not only a great way for supporters to get together, they make it possible for us to grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children throughout the region.

Wish-A-Thon
Wish-A-Thon® is by far the easiest way to make a difference in the lives of critically ill children throughout Central Florida.
No planning is necessary—simply tune in to WDBO on August 23, 2024 and you’ll hear inspiring stories of some incredible Wish Kids as well as how their experiences gave them strength to continue treatment. Additionally, you can make a donation in person at a local business.
Last year, our Wish-A-Thon helped raise more than $40,000—enough to grant wishes to five children!
runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend
For Orlando residents who are committed to a healthy, active lifestyle, Disney is offering a way for you to give back while you exercise!
The Springtime Surprise Weekend will be held from April 19-21, 2024 and has multiple events for athletes of all ages and levels. Join other Disney fans for sunrise yoga, run a 5k, or just enjoy a day at Typhoon Lagoon—all events this weekend benefit Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida!
And if you want to share your support for Make-A-Wish (not to mention your love for Disney!), consider purchasing a Disney specialty license plate!
Celebration Exotic Car Festival
As a 501(c)3 charity, the Celebration Exotic Car Festival is instrumental at helping Make-A-Wish and other local non-profits reach their goals.
Come join fellow gearheads and car enthusiasts in enjoying some of the most unusual and rare vehicles. You can even spot some iconic vehicles from the big screen and meet your favorite celebrities!
The next Celebration Exotic Car Festival will be held on April 5-9, 2024.
The Chloe Zee Golf Classic
What better way to spend a weekend than by playing a round of golf while helping out a great cause?
Named after a former wish kid, the Chloe Zee Foundation hosts a golf tournament each year to support Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida. In addition to golf and a putting contest, you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious dinner and participate in a silent auction.
Walk For Wishes
Held every year at Lake Eola Park, our Walk For Wishes® event is a family-friendly event where donors, sponsors, volunteers, and Wish families can make a difference in the lives of critically ill children throughout the Greater Orlando area.
Invite family, friends, or coworkers (or all of the above!) to join your team. Together, you’ll be making wishes come true while spreading awareness for a great cause (and having fun while doing it)!
Our next Walk For Wishes will be held on March 28, 2024.
Wishmaker’s Ball
Our biggest event of the year, the Wishmaker’s Ball is our signature black-tie gala held at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria.
The evening kicks off with a silent auction, featuring incredible items (and experiences) for guests of all ages. Then enjoy a gourmet meal while hearing about the impact of a wish from Wish Kids who have experienced them firsthand.
Next, you’ll be able to participate in the excitement of a live auction, featuring exclusive getaways and experiences.
Finally, put on your dancing shoes and join us at a one-of-a-kind afterparty!
Our next Wishmaker’s Ball on May 11, 2024 will not only celebrate our incredible Wish Kids, it will also celebrate 30 years as a chapter! Buy your tickets or reserve a table today.
Host a Fundraiser
Can’t make it to any of our Orlando charity events? Consider hosting your own!
Make-A-Wish offers a host of programs that you can implement into your workplace, school, club, or organization. We also encourage you to get creative and come up with your own unique ideas.
You’ll not only be connecting with others in your community, you’ll be contributing to an amazing cause. Studies have shown that the impact of a wish goes far beyond the wish itself. In fact, children who benefit from Make-A-Wish experience improvements in their emotional wellbeing, stress levels, and their outlook on the future.
